Online Advertising
Online advertising is a massive area of business opportunity. Google (TM) and friends have made millions from providing online advertising services, no sorry, billions of dollars from offering an online internet marketers dream. Never before in history has any advertising medium offered an environment for commerce on such a mass scale for companies to promote and sell their wares.
Many advertising courses and books have been written about this topic as the sheer market penetration is such a huge opportunity for an online marketer. However, there is a catch and quite a big one! The market is vast and you can interact and have relevant advertisements showing to the right demographic group, but the online competition for this golden honey pot is huge and herein lies the problem.
Online fortunes have been made for sure, likewise many entrepreneurs have lost a little more than they bargained for by not understanding how PPC (Pay Per Click), CPM, CPV, CPC, CPA, CPL, CPE advertising and so on, works. Mind boggling isn’t it? It can be totally overwhelming to try and figure out what it all means and the best way to proceed.
To get ahead in this area you truly need to learn what Adsense, Adwords, PPC and impressions are and that is just Google’s (TM) advertising terms! What are some of the dos and don’ts? What does it mean to you as an online marketer to get it right, and what will happen if you get it wrong?
Google (TM), Yahoo (TM) and Bing (TM) are players that spring to mind, with Google(TM) being the behemoth, however who’s even Google scared of? The answer may surprise you, it’s Facebook (TM)! Facebook (TM) is 5 times bigger in traffic terms and is a very serious player in the online advertising arena.
There are of course some more traditional methods of advertising online where you can pay a straight monthly fee to have your advert displayed on high volume traffic sites. This can be good for you as an advertiser, but equally, very lucrative as a website owner who has a constant traffic flow.
There are plenty of online resources and I’ve placed a few examples below from Google (TM). Remember what Google (TM) or Yahoo (TM) or other online media solutions teach is really in their own interest as you would expect for them to be able to maximise their advertising revenues. As always, if you want to learn the real power and tricks of advertising online with the best ROI (return On Investment), you seriously need to consider a mentor who specialises in teaching the skills required. The investment will pay for itself many times over. As with all skills regarding the internet, paid online advertising should form a part of a balanced strategy and not be the strategy.
